2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS Owner's Manual

Mercedes-Benz CLS is an E class station wagon. The debut of the restyled version of the model took place at the end of June 2014 as part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Just like the sedan, the CLS Shuting Brake station wagon received a new “face” in the process of restyling, slightly modified taillights and an improved interior in terms of style and ergonomics. But this is only the visible part of the innovations, and it is not so important compared to how the Germans modernized the technical part of the car.

One of the most interesting systems that debuted on the CLS was the Multibeam intelligent head optics. Its essence is that 24 LEDs, operating independently of each other and having 255 gradations of brightness, are controlled by a camera that constantly evaluates the traffic situation, and a navigation system that knows when, in which direction and at what angle the car will turn. Based on this data, the LEDs change the brightness and direction of the light, but they do it in such a way that they do not blind the drivers of oncoming cars in any way.
