Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Owner's Manuals

Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is a rear-wheel drive roadster with factory index R172. The third generation of the model was presented at the end of January 2011 in Stuttgart during the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the German brand.

In the exterior of the SLK, it is easy to find features of other Mercedes models such as the CLS, C-Class and SLS AMG. The roadster is still not available with a soft top, however, in addition to a solid folding aluminum roof, a panoramic glass Magic Sky Control is now available. Its peculiarity is that the driver can independently choose the degree of darkening of the glass.

The cabin of the SLK-class also has a lot in common with the SLS AMG. In particular, the architecture of the center console and air conditioning ducts, but there are also original solutions – a chronograph in the center of the dashboard, like the Porsche Cayman coupe.

From a technical point of view, the Mercedes-Benz SLK is distinguished by an adaptive suspension with three robot modes (Normal, Sports and Dynamic Handling), steering with a variable gear ratio, rear brakes with a force distribution function and a number of auxiliary systems – adaptive cruise control, tracking driver fatigue, a system that automatically brings the pads to the brake discs during a sharp deceleration, etc.

As powertrains, Mercedes offers three 1.8-liter (184 and 204 hp) and 3.5-liter (306 hp) turbocharged petrol engines for the SLK-Class. The most powerful is aggregated with a 7-speed automatic transmission 7G Tronic. The rest – 6-speed “mechanics”.
