Mercedes-Benz SLS-AMG Owner's Manuals

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is a rear-wheel drive roadster based on the SLS AMG coupe. The world premiere of the car took place as part of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011.

The roadster lost the distinctive feature of its fellow coupe – doors swinging upwards (“gull wings”). Their place was taken by standard doors, but the car did not lose anything from this. It also looks sporty and expensive, not inferior in terms of equipment. In particular, the SLS AMG Roadster is equipped with the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension and the AMG Performance Media multimedia system. The first allows you to change the characteristics of the car, depending on preferences and driving style, and the second gives a lot of useful information in real time, such as lateral and linear acceleration, oil temperature, coolant and air pressure in each tire.

The overall dimensions of the SLS AMG roadster are the same as those of the coupe: length – 4638 mm, width – 1939 mm, wheelbase – 2680 mm. And only the height of the car with a soft top has decreased by a millimeter (up to 1231 mm). The three-layer fabric roof, by the way, folds in 11 seconds at a speed of 50 km / h, without affecting the volume of the 173-liter boot.

Mercedes-Benz specialists have increased the rigidity of the body and modernized the frame of the roadster, which consists of only 6% steel. Everything else is aluminum. As a result, the curb weight of the car increased by 40 kg compared to the coupe and is 1660 kg.

The engine of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is the same as that of the coupe – a 6.2-liter V8. He gives out 571 hp. With. (650 Nm), accelerating the car to the first “hundred” in 3.8 seconds, and the Getrag 7-speed robotic gearbox helps him in this.

The SLS AMG Roadster is assembled at the largest Mercedes-Benz plant in the German city of Sindelfingen.
