Mercedes-Benz E-Class Owner's Manuals

Mercedes-Benz E-Class – rear- or all-wheel drive sedan class “E” (body W213). Restyling of the fifth generation of the model. The model premiered online on March 3, 2020.

Having survived restyling, the most popular model of the German brand has not received global changes: a slightly smaller head optics shows a modified pattern, a false radiator grille has an emblem already in the basic version of Avantgarde, and a chrome insert appeared on the front bumper. At the back, the main difference is the elongated lights, now divided into two sections between the body and the trunk lid. There were additional body color options and patterns of alloy wheels (basic wheel size – 17 inches).

Of the modernized in the interior – two 12.3-inch displays in more expensive trim levels (in the basic version – 10.25-inch), now united by one glass, the absence of a swivel washer on the central tunnel (now only a touchpad), as well as chairs with Energizing massage functionality. Worth noting is also the steering wheel with several design/material options (leather, leather/wood, supersport version), which is now equipped with a sensor that checks whether the driver’s hands are on the rim (a function intended for the “correct” use of semi-autonomous cruise control).

The engine range was replenished with two gasoline units: a 2.0-liter M254 with 272 hp. With. and a 3.0-liter M256 with 367 liters. with., and both motors are equipped with a 48-volt makeweight (the starter-generator develops an additional 20 hp and 180 Nm during acceleration; the system allows you to coast with the engine off). The remaining gasoline engines (from the weakest at 197 hp to the most productive at 367 hp) are also equipped with a “mild hybrid” system.

Diesel engines develop from 194 to 330 hp. With. There are also hybrid modifications: gasoline (E 300 e) and diesel (E 300 de) thanks to a 122 hp electric motor. With. and 440 Nm boast a return of 320 hp. s./700 Nm and 306 l. s./700 Nm, respectively. The declared consumption of the hybrid all-wheel drive version with a gasoline engine is 1.9 l / 100 km, with a diesel engine – 1.6 l / 100 km.

Restyling brought E-CLass more advanced electronics. Firstly, the sedan is now equipped with the MBUX multimedia system, which can be controlled by voice. Secondly, the navigation system can now assist the driver by displaying an augmented reality image showing the direction of travel and numbers of nearby houses. Thirdly, the list of assistants has been replenished with the Distronic adaptive cruise control, which now uses navigation data; Stop-and-Go traffic system in traffic jams; the Active Blind Spot Assist blind spot monitoring system, which warns of traffic behind the car when its doors are opened; Parktronic automatic parking system (with all-round cameras). It is worth mentioning the Urban Guard system, which “monitors” suspicious movements near the car and sends a message to the owner if someone tries to harm the car.

You can equip the Mercedes-Benz E-Class with 20-inch wheels, Multibeam matrix head optics (Ultrarange light “beats” at 650 m), a panoramic roof, front multi-contour seats with position memory, heating and ventilation, three-zone climate control, LTE support, projection display, Burmester audio system, as well as wireless charging for a smartphone, which can be connected via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can improve the driving performance of the sedan using the 4Matic all-wheel drive system, adaptive suspension or air suspension.

The Mercedes-AMG E 53 version is distinguished by a more efficient power plant (an in-line turbo six produces 435 hp and 520 Nm of torque), a more advanced AMG Speedshift TCT 9G automatic transmission, Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive and Air Ride Control+ air suspension. You can recognize such versions by a more aggressive external design.

And at the top of the “power chain” is the Mercedes-AMG E 63 / E 63 S. After restyling, the car received all the same distinctive features as the base model, supplemented by extended (by 27 mm compared to the classic E-Classe) arches , a false radiator grille in the form of an inverted trapezoid, decorated only with vertical rods, and a front bumper with increased air intake areas. The design of branded AMG wheels has also been revised (19-inch for the base E 63, 20-inch for the S-version). From a technical point of view, the car has not changed much: the 4.0-liter V8 develops the same 571 hp. With. and 750 Nm, in the S-version – 612 forces and 850 Nm. But in the rear differential, the mechanical lock was replaced by a non-electronic one (already in the base E 63). The drift mode also remains, in which the clutch is forcibly opened, and the stabilization system does not respond to cornering in a slip.
