2014 Mercedes GL 450 Owner's Manual

Car critics tend to favor traditional station wagons over crossovers, but the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class three-row makes drivers actually play the role of “devil’s advocate. Of course, Mercedes still offers the E-Class wagon with third-row rear seats, but only children can fit in there, and their legs will clearly lack space. As for cargo capacity, no station wagon can match the GL’s 93.8 cubic feet, and its air suspension provides a useful 7.8 inches of standard ground clearance (even more can be obtained at the touch of a button).
First, the 2014 Mercedes GL 450 has a true third row with two adult seats, making it a full seven-seat vehicle. In addition to all that cargo space, the GL boasts an impressively well-finished cabin and the expected long list of standard and optional luxury and convenience features. You may ask, but what about fuel economy? Well, the GL350 Bluetec with the diesel engine is rated at a healthy 22 miles per gallon combined (with a figure of 26 miles per gallon on the highway), though the available turbocharged gasoline V8 will tempt you with its surprisingly quick acceleration. With the GL, you also get powerful towing power: 7,500 pounds with the right equipment.
