2012 Mercedes-Benz A Class Owner's Manual

Three powertrains are available for the A-Class. “Junior” gasoline (version A 200) – a common development with Renault. This is a 1.3-liter M282 turbo engine with 163 hp. With. and 250 Nm of torque (it has the function of turning off the cylinders at low loads). More powerful – 2-liter M260 turbo engine with 224 hp. With. and 350 Nm (version A 250). The third engine – diesel – 116 “horses” and 260 Nm of torque (version A 180 d). A 7G-DCT robot of its own design is paired with a gasoline engine of higher power, the diesel version relies on a 7-speed robot developed jointly with Getrag, and a 6-speed “mechanics” is also available for the “junior” gasoline engine. An important innovation is the simplification of the model – on low-power modifications, a semi-independent rear suspension will appear instead of an independent rear suspension. Multi-link suspension is only for versions with a return of more than 200 forces. It is with such motors that the A-class can be equipped with all-wheel drive – with a rear wheel coupling. Now, instead of an electro-hydraulic actuator, it boasts a faster electric one.
